Current Projects | Completed Work

This project for a private client, involves the complete renovation of an existing mill house and adjoining stables. This has provided a challenging brief as the envelope to work within measures 40m by 5m.

By removing the roof completely and altering many of the existing window openings, we have managed to provide a contemporary modern house within the existing restricted shell. The upper floor lounge area is transformed with the zinc box protruding from the existing building out over the stream below.

Many of the main spaces within the house are provided with daylight through the new roof lights we have introduced. The double height spaces to the main kitchen and dining space make particular use of this light.

The master bedroom suite again is a full height space with an en-suite bathroom within the mezzanine above. The room opens up through the glazed gable end, to a private walled garden specifically for the master suite.

Progress on the development is going well with a start on site anticipated for early 2007.
