Joint Cadet Centre, Dingwall
The £1.3m project increased the size of the existing 1st Battalion The Highlanders Army Cadet Force (ACF) building, enabling it to become a facility shared by young people and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers from the Royal Air Force Air Cadets (RAFAC).
In addition, solar panels were installed on the adjacent Highlander accommodation block.
The building is net zero carbon in use and achieves an ‘Excellent’ rating using the MOD’s Defence Related Environmental Assessment Method (DREAM), which assesses the sustainability of building projects at feasibility, design, construction and operation stages.
The newly extended building will allow for the disposal of two stand-alone ACF and RAFAC properties located on the wider site.
